Our Story
by Tanya Zelikov, Founder and President of Vita's Light
My battle with breast cancer began in October of 2013. I was lucky to have my daughter Vita as my best friend and supporter, my inspiration, and my patient advocate. When she was diagnosed with the breast cancer too, we became a team of warriors. She was my life and my light, which gave me energy and purpose to keep fighting.
When breast cancer took Vita from this world in January of 2023, her light continues to shine brightly in my heart. I want to extend that light out to anyone who is going though breast cancer treatments and could benefit from our knowledge.
That’s why I started Vita’s Light nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meaningful personal care packages and support to underserved breast cancer fighters.
Vita was the light in my heart that kept me fighting and lifted my spirits during the tough times of my chemotherapy treatment and later through surgery.
Now, 10 years later, that light is still in my heart, and I want to extend that light out to anyone who is going through breast cancer treatment and needs a little help and support.
